Traffic Services
Traffic Safety Programs

The Traffic Safety Programs section was created as a result of Traffic Safety being made a Service Priority by Chief Fantino in 2001. This priority was determined through extensive consultation, with both members of the Service and members of the community, as well as from a comprehensive analysis of ongoing trends and anticipated challenges to the delivery of police services within the coming years.

Traffic Safety Programs utilizes these innovative means to spearhead safety campaigns throughout the Service. Three key elements are used for our traffic safety strategies; awareness, education and enforcement. Through partnerships with other agencies including GTA police services, the Traffic Safety message is being heard throughout the community.
