The Psychology of Police Interrogation
Michel St-Yves - Forensic Psychologist, Sûreté du Québec
Marc Lépine, Sergeant, Sûreté du Québec
Michel St-Yves is a forensic psychologist working with the Behavioural Science Service at the Sûreté du Québec since 2002. He works as a critical-incident specialist and is actively involved in criminal investigations as well as in preparing psychological profiles and interrogations. Since 1997, he has taught the psychology of interrogation at Quebec's provincial police academy. He is also a lecturer at the University of Montreal and has been since 2002. His publications principally treat sexual assault, crisis-situation negotiation, and police interrogation.
Marc Lépine has been a sergeant with the behavioural analysis service of the Sûreté du Québec since 2004. He is a certified criminal profiler and he is completing the International Criminal Investigative Analysis Fellowship's (ICIAF) training program in geographic profiling. He has been a police officer since 1988, and has more than 19 years of experience as an investigator. He has investigated major crimes, notably arson and crimes against persons. He teaches at the Canadian Police College and supervises specialized training in interrogation at the École Nationale de police du Québec. He is also a guest speaker at the Université de Montréal, and is a member of the ICIAF and the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).

He has worked on a huge range of cases, from thefts, frauds, hold-ups, sex assaults and murders.

Jim Ling is currently on contract with the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario (CISO) as a Technical trainer - telecommunications. He recently retired as a Detective from the Toronto Police Service after 33 1/2 years service. He spent the last 15 years of his career as a member of the Technical Support Services Unit. He has been the affiant of Part VI Authorizations and the lead investigators of several wire tap investigations.. He has also lectured on cellular interception and technical courses at the Ontario Police College for the past 12 years. He received cellular Interception training from the FBI Research Facility, Quantico, Virginia. He created a network within Canada interfacing several telecommunication companies with collection systems in numerous agencies from BC to Quebec. Jim is a member of national "Legally Authorized Electronic Surveillance" committee and is working on new legislation.

Donna Brown began her law enforcement career over 37 yrs ago with the Toronto Police Services. There she worked records, youth staff services, uniform patrol, morality and the homicide squad. After leaving the force she worked as a private investigator in Toronto. Dan McCaffrey has been a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for fifteen years. In those years he has been primarily assigned in the Violent Crime Major Offender Branch. Special Agent McCaffrey has the collateral duties of Hostage Negotiator and Criminal Profiler. As a Special Agent he has been assigned to many high profile murder, robbery, and commercial burglary investigations. Additionally, Agent McCaffrey has spoken to Law Enforcement groups all over the United States, and internationally. Prior to being appointed as a Special Agent, McCaffrey was employed by the world renowned jeweler Tiffany & Company where he served as their Director of Operations.

Brian R. Abraham, CPP - Vice President, Canada & Caribbean Regions, 3SI Security Systems Inc.
Brian Abraham is Board certified in security management with a background in law enforcement and is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He has worked in progressive management roles for several Canadian Banks and is a former Chairman of the International Banking & Financial Services Security Council. He has conducted considerable research on Bank robbery and is the author of “Hard Cash, Making Robbers Rethink the Odds”. Mr. Abraham is Vice President of 3SI Security Systems, a Philadelphia based corporation that is engaged in the development of gps technologies to assist in the investigation of misconduct.

Dennis Hull
 Dennis Hull began his hockey career with the St. Catherines Black Hawks of the Junior 'A' League where he played from 1961-1965.
In 1965, he joined the Chicago Black Hawks of the National Hockey League where he played until 1976. He then spent one year with the Detroit Red Wings before retiring.
During his National Hockey League career, Dennis scored 303 goals and had 351 assists in regular games. In 95 playoff games he scored 33 goals and had the same number of assists. Six selections to the All Star team are testament to his hockey skills. His biggest thrill in hockey was the first game he played against his idol, Gordie Howe, but the most significant time in his career came when he was selected to play for the memorable Team Canada of 1972.
