Crime Information Analysis Unit

Geographic Profiling Analysis Basic and Advanced Training – (ECRI)

The Crime Information Analysis Unit is hosting a Geographic Profiling Analysis Training course.

When: August 16-20, 2010 (GPA I – Basic)
August 23-27, 2010 (GPA II – Advanced)
Location: Toronto Police College
70 Birmingham Street, Toronto, Ontario
Course Details:

GPA I – Basic: Basic introduction to the concepts and theory of geographic profiling. It covers the mathematics and statistics behind the techniques, crime pattern theory, mental maps and criminal hunting area concepts are introduced.

GPA II – Advanced: Hands-on instructional course that focuses on applying geographic profiling techniques to actual cases (historical or active). Emphasis is on effective analysis, strategy and scenario development and final report generation. The RIGEL Analyst software is introduced and is used extensively in this part of the course.

Cost: GPA I – Basic $975.00 + GST
GPA II – Advanced $1175.00 + GST

Course fees paid in advance are fully refundable up until the cancellation deadline of July 16, 2010. After the cancellation deadline, course fees are not refundable. Courses are subject to cancellation at any time up until the start date. If a course is cancelled prior to cancellation deadline, all fees paid in advance will be fully refunded or credited against a future GPA course at the registrant's option.

The course organizer accepts no responsibility for any non-refundable expenses incurred by the registrant in case of cancellation. All registrations are subject to review by the course organizer and lead instructor prior to being accepted to ensure that registrants meet the course requirements. Paid registrations may be switched to an alternate person, subject to review and acceptance. Registrants will be notified promptly of acceptance.
