The Primary Report Intake, Management and Entry Unit (PRIME) is a specialized unit that provides the public with telephone and online response to non-emergency and administrative calls for service.

The mandate of PRIME is to work in conjunction with Primary Response Units and provide effective, efficient, alternative and supplemental methods of response to those calls for service where the attendance of the police may not be immediately necessary to resolve the problem presented by the caller.

Its main focus is to respond to, investigate, give advice and report on these calls for police service. By redirecting this responsibility from Primary Response units (PRU), front line officers are more able to efficiently respond to higher priority emergency calls as well as proactively engage the community and support policing initiatives.
