The motto was coined during the War of 1812 by the 3rd York Militia Regiment, in which many of the Home District Constables served. Peel Regional Police was established on January 1st, 1974, upon the creation of the Regional Municipality of Peel. It incorporated the former police services of Mississauga, Port Credit, Streetsville, Brampton, and Chinguacousy.
Led by Chief Noel Catney (appointed in April 1997), Peel Regional Police is the second largest municipal police service in Ontario, with 1,423 uniform members and 529 civilian staff. Peel Regional Police polices the cities of Mississauga and Brampton (population 935,000) and serves the 26 million travelers who annually pass through Pearson International Airport.

Established on January 1st, 1971, the Niagara Regional Police Service is the oldest regional police service in Ontario. In an area of 1,862 square kilometres, the Niagara Regional Police Service patrols one of Ontario's largest geographic Regions. The Niagara Regional Police provide policing and public safety services to some 420,000 residents, and an estimated 15,000,000 visitors annually.
The Regional Municipality of Niagara includes three medium density cities: St. Catharines/Thorold, Niagara Falls, and Welland. It includes four medium density towns: Grimsby, Fort Erie, Port Colborne and Niagara on the Lake. The Region includes world renowned tourist attractions such as Niagara Falls, the Welland Canal, and the Shaw Festival, to name a few. Niagara is also one of Canada's richest agricultural areas, with the nation's major soft-fruit growing area located within the Region.
A few of the unique policing challenges facing Niagara are: the combination of urban and rural development; the large annual influx of tourists; its proximity to the United States; the effect of the nations's busiest border crossings; a major summer cottage population in varying communities; and a waterfront shoreline that surrounds the Region on three sides.

Perhaps the Force’s greatest achievement was to expand and modernize itself to meet changing conditions and provide proper police service. The two dominant factors shaping the Force’s development throughout the 143 years were, of course, the growth of population and the advance of science and technology. The Force actively took up these challenges and developed itself into the distinguished organization it is today. An adaptable Force proved itself to be the kind of police force needed by a changing London.
Londoners of 1855 probably could not have imagined what the future held in store for their Police Force. The changes ahead might have been beyond recognition to their eyes. But not everything would be different. 143 years later, Constables were on the beat, following in a symbolic way, in the steps of generations of London police officers before them, linking he past and present and moving into another future.

In 1998, the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) marked twenty-five years of policing in Waterloo Region. Prior to amalgamation in 1973, the County of Waterloo was patrolled by a number of different police forces.The Cities of Kitchener, Waterloo and Galt; Towns of Preston, Hespeler, Elmira and New Hamburg; the Village of Bridgeport and Waterloo Township all had their own police force. The Townships of Woolwich, Wellesley, Wilmot and North Dumfries were patrolled by the Ontario Provincial Police.
With the formation of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo on January 1, 1973, eight municipal police forces amalgamated to form the Waterloo Regional Police Force. The following year, the Waterloo Regional Police Force assumed responsibility for policing the townships that had previously been served by the Ontario Provincial Police.

From humble beginnings in 1841, the organization has grown to a sophisticated and respected law enforcement agency recognized for its professionalism and dedication to the community. The Kingston Police has jurisdiction over an area of 528 square kilometres and to fulfill its mandate has grown to over 200 members. Responding to more than 40,000 calls for service each year, the uniformed officers provide proactive and reactive police services, as well as a variety of community-oriented initiatives. A few examples are foot and bicycle patrols, school programs such as Values, Influences and Peers (VIP), traffic analysis and enforcement programs, victim assistance and youth services. The Kingston Police also provides many specialized services to the community through the various unit and divisions. Our officers are the pulse of our community; on the job, they walk the downtown beat and provide a continuing presence in our schools; off duty, they coach minor sports teams and volunteer at a variety of community events. The Kingston Police is also proud to present The Sky is the Limit Festival, one of the city's premier family events.

On January 1,1997 Innisfil Police Service and the Bradford/West Gwillimbury Police Service amalgamated to form the South Simcoe Police Service. This new service polices the Town of Innisfil and the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
This area borders on the City of Barrie and Kempenfelt Bay in the north, Lake Simcoe to the east, Highway #27 in the west and the Holland River in the south.
The service is made up of 56 police officers and 23 civilians. It is divided into two divisions, North and South. The North office is at 2137 Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil and the South office is at 45 Holland Street in Bradford. We also have a Training/Learning Centre at the Cookstown Outlet Mall at Highway #400 and #89.

The McMaster Security Department currently employs 11 full time uniformed Constables, 4 uniformed Sergeants, an Operations Manager and the Director, all of whom are sworn Peace Officers. As Peace Officers they have the powers to investigate, to make arrests and lay charges. The officers are appointed under the authority of the Ontario Police Act to enforce Federal and Provincial Statutes and Municipal Bylaws on the property of McMaster University. They also enforce University Regulations.
In addition to the officers, the Security Department employs an Administrative Support Supervisor, as well as 4 full time and 2 part time Dispatchers. The dispatchers receive all calls for the Security Department 24 hours a day each day of the year, and maintain communications with the officers as well as local fire, police and ambulance services for emergency responses.
Our security officers respond to all emergencies on campus (eg. accidents, medical emergencies, etc.) In the event of a medical-related problem, Security can provide you with transportation to the medical facilities on campus. Security Services personnel patrol the campus 24 hours a day, on foot, by car and by bicycle.

36 uniform and plain clothes officers plus 18 civilian support staff, provide 24 hour, 7 day a week protection responding to over 15,000 incidents for calls for service yearly in the City of Owen Sound.
The police service operates from their headquarters located at 922 2nd Avenue West, Owen Sound, as well as their community outreach office located at Heritage Place Shopping Centre.

Anishinabek Police Service

On March 30, 1992, a five year Ontario First Nations Policing Agreement was signed by Grand Council Treaty #3, Nishnawbe-Aski Nation, A.I.A.I., Anishinabek Nation, Six Nations and the Provincial and Federal Government.
In 1994, Garden River, Curve Lake, Sagamok and Saugeen First Nations stepped away from the Ontario Provincial Police to form the Anishinabek Police Service. At this time it was also decided that Garden River would be home to Headquarters because geographically it is situated in the center of the province. Keeping the future in mind, and projecting that the Police Service would expand to incorporate more First Nations, Garden River was a logical location for Headquarters.
In 1996, a new three year agreement was endorsed to include 13 more First Nations. In I997, two more First Nations joined the Police Service, bringing the total to 19 First Nations, spread over the province of Ontario.
Although the initial strength of the Anishinabek Police Service is 60 officers it can grow to a maximum of 222 officers through a cost sharing agreement signed with the Union of Ontario Indians and the Federal and Provincial governments.
