Robbery (Business) - 33 Division

A 66 year old female, employee of Hot Spicy Spicy Chinese Restaurant, 173 Ravel Road, reports that on June 17, 2009, at approximately 2125 hours, two male suspects wearing disguises, entered the premise, walked behind the counter and attempted to open the cash register.  The suspects indicated they were armed although no weapon was seen.  The suspects fled the scene empty-handed in a westbound direction toward Sparroways complex.  No injuries were sustained by the victim.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1 and #2:  Male, black, 18 to 21 years, 5’8”, medium build.

Robbery (Business) - 43 Division

A 55 year old male and a 20 year old female; employees of Spence Diamonds, 410 Progress Avenue, reports that on June 17, 2009, at approximately 2114 hours, two male suspects wearing disguises and armed with knives enter the premise.  The suspects ordered the victims to open the safes and emptied them of their contents.  The suspects also took the victims to the vault and the cash register and removed the contents.  The suspects fled the scene in a northbound direction.  No injuries were sustained by the victims.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1 and #2:  Male, black, 20 to 25 years, 6’2” to 6’4”, 140 to 160 pounds, thin build.

A male employee of Kendrew Distribution Services Limited, reports that between  June 1, 2009 at 0001 hours and June 16 at 0900 hours, unknown suspects have been removing skids of newspapers from various delivery points.  These papers are not being purchased nor are they being returned to the vendor.

Robbery (Mugging) - 32 Division

A 22 year old female reports that on June 18, 2009 at approximately 0052 hours, she was in the area of Bathurst Street and Cedarcroft Boulevard, when she was approached from behind by a male suspect.  The suspect grabbed the victim by the hand and made a demand for cash and the victim’s cellular phone.  The victim complied.  The suspect indicated he had a knife, although no knife was seen.  The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.  No injuries were sustained by the victim.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described person in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect: Male, 25 to 30 years, 5’7”, 165 pounds, medium build. Sexual Assault  - 42 Division

A 24 year old female reports that on June 18, 2009 between 0207 hours and 0448 hours, she was in the area of Birchmount Road and Sanwood Boulevard when she was grabbed around the neck by a male suspect.  The suspect produced a knife and made a demand for cash.  The victim complied and the suspect sexually assaulted the victim.  The suspect fled the scene with the victim’s personal property and a quantity of cash.  The victim sustained minor injuries, but will seek her own medical attention.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described person in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect:  Male, 30 to 35 years, 5’6” to 5’7”, medium build, NO FURTHER DESCRIPTION AVAILABLE.

Charge(s):  June 18, 2009 – Uttering Forged Document (7 counts), Fraud Over, Fail to Comply with Probation

Arrested and Investigated by Members of the Fraud Squad.

During the period from August 22, 2008 and December 8, 2008, a male victim, owner of an investment company made an agreement with a male suspect, owner of a printing company for a short term bridge financing.  During this period, the suspect submitted to the victim numerous purchase orders from his clientele.  On January 21, 2009, the suspect issued a cheque as payment for the first loan.  As a result of investigation, it was revealed that the cheque was forged.  Further investigations revealed that the purchase orders submitted by the suspect were forged.  Total amount defrauded is estimated at $1,151,670.00.  EREZ was arrested on June 18, 2009.  At the time of the arrest, EREZ failed to comply with the conditions of his probation.  Charged accordingly.  No recovery has been made.  Investigation continuing.

Robbery (Swarming) - 12 Division

A 36 year old male reports that on June 18, 2009 at approximately 1510 hours, he was in the alleyway in the area of Pelham Avenue and Osler Street when six male suspects approached him.  Two of the suspects armed with sticks struck the victim about the head and body.  The suspects removed a quantity of cash from the victim, then all the suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.  The victim was transported by Toronto EMS to hospital where he was treated and admitted.  The victim’s condition is unknown at this time.  Police are requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the following described persons in connection with this offence.  Description of Suspect #1:  Male, black, 20 to 25 years, 5’10” to 6’2”, 169 to 200 pounds, muscular build.  Suspect #2:  Male, black, 20 to 25 years, 5’10” to 6’2”, 161 to 169 pounds, medium build.  Suspects #3 to #6:  Male, black, NO FURTHER DESCRIPTION AVAILABLE.
