Human Resources Development oversees five units that are responsible for the hiring, training, development, and promotion of our members. The unit is responsible for the corporate direction, oversight, and support of the Community Mobilization Unit, Toronto Police College, the Staff Planning Unit, the Employment Unit, and the Diversity Management Unit.
This pillar is also responsible for planning and implementing appropriate changes to the Service’s human resource policies, procedures, and practices, while ensuring all units within the command reflect diversity at all ranks.
Human Resources Development is also responsible for:
• Producing efficient, equitable, ethical, and economical operations for the pillar
• Promoting and achieving the priorities, goals and strategic objectives of the Service, Human Resources Command and the HRD pillar
• Performing duties and responsibilities in a professional, positive and team-oriented manner while providing the highest levels of customer service
With over 300 dedicated uniform officers and civilian staff in this pillar, members of the Toronto Police Service are able to received top quality service and training.
The unit is located on the 6th floor of the Toronto Police Service Headquarters, at the South-West end. Members of this unit are available from Monday to Friday, 0700 – 1500.
