Stanley FONTAINE

Police were called to the grounds of Osgoode Hall and upon arrival, the lifeless body of the Stanley Fontaine was located on the grassy area just inside the University Avenue entrance.

Details of Investigation
On Wednesday, September 6th, 2000 at about 7:15 a.m. the deceased was found lying on the front lawn of the Law Society of Upper Canada located at 130 Queen Street West, Toronto by a citizen who was out walking her dog.

Authorities were notified and rushed to the scene. Mr. FONTAINE was found to have suffered blunt force trauma to his forehead and other injuries.

The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene by the Coroner.

Investigation has revealed that Mr. FONTAINE was a homeless person who had been sleeping in the area around New City Hall for several weeks.

It is believed that under the cover of nightfall a person or persons unknown attacked Mr. Fontaine as he slept. A weapon was recovered at the scene.
