Promoter killed during Home Invasion Robbery

Details of Investigation
On Saturday, May 29, 2010 at approximately 11:42 pm, the Toronto Police Service received a call indicating that a person had jumped from the 14th or 15th floor at 2000 Sheppard Avenue West , Toronto. Upon arrival, Egbert Boothe was located on a grassy area on the north side of the building. Despite life-saving efforts at the scene, he was pronounced dead.

Circumstances of the incident were deemed to be suspicious.

A post-mortem examination was performed on Mr. Boothe. Cause of death was determined to be, "Multiple blunt force injuries consistent with a descent from a great height."

The initial investigation was conducted by members of 31 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau. Based on information received, members of the Homicide Squad were called in to assist.

Investigation revealed that shortly before the 911 call, 3 males forced their way into apartment 1503, which was occupied by the deceased and two other males. The 3 suspects were wearing disguises which concealed their faces. The 3 suspects and all were armed with handguns.
Mr. Boothe ran out onto the balcony and was chased by 2 of the suspects.
The third suspect accosted one of the other occupants in the apartment and made a demand for cash and jewellery.
Within moments, the two suspects returned from the balcony and vocalized an urgent need to depart.
The three suspects fled the apartment.
The third occupant of in the apartment was in a bedroom and was unaffected by the actions of the three suspects.
Stolen: a quantity of cash.

PERSONS OF INTEREST (POI)

Co-incident with the 911 call being placed, 3 Persons of Interest are captured on Security Video exiting the rear of the building. Their behaviour appears suspicious as they make efforts to conceal their faces from the Security Camera.

Approx. 20 minutes before the incident, POI # 1 was seen arriving at 2000 Sheppard Ave with a female, POI # 4. Together, they rode the elevator and appear to be acquainted with one another.
