At 2:00 a.m. Monday, October 23rd, 1995, the deceased left his apartment telling his girlfriend that he would return shortly.
At approximately 3:10 a.m., residents of at least two apartments situated on the first floor of 2737 Kipling Avenue reported hearing a number of gunshots. They ignored the volley.
Shortly at 3:15 a.m., a cabbie dropped off a passenger at the address and as the passenger approached a bank of elevators situated in the front lobby of the building, he saw the crumpled figure of the deceased sprawled on the floor approximately 25 feet away from a side exit door. He summoned the cabbie who in turn called 9-1-1. Police Officers from 23 Division and Paramedics responded to the emergency call and upon arrival found the deceased dead from obvious gunshot wounds.
Investigations are continuing.
