The following are the circumstances surrounding the death of Jaswinder SINGH.
On Friday, August 25, 1995 at approximately 9:55 p.m., Intercon Security Officers were patrolling the front of the apartment building situated at 2737 Kipling Avenue when they were approached by a citizen informing them that a male was on the ground in the back parking lot and needed medical attention.
Security officers attended to the rear parking lot of 2737 Kipling Avenue and located Jaswinder SINGH on the ground, suffering from obvious trauma.
The Metropolitan Toronto Police Services Communications Bureau was notified and Department of Ambulance Services, Etobicoke Fire Department and 23 Division personnel were dispatched to the scene.
Jaswinder SINGH was given emergency treatment at the scene and then transported to hospital by ambulance, where he was subsequently pronounced dead at 11:00 p.m.
Detectives from 23 Division attended at the scene and commenced the initial investigation.
Forensic Identification Bureau was notified and attended the scene and assisted with the investigation and collection of evidence.
The Homicide Squad were notified and attended the scene and took charge of the investigation.
Preliminary investigations conducted by Detectives revealed that the accused was not a resident of 2737 Kipling Avenue and it is unknown why he was at this location.
On Saturday, August 26th, 1995, a post mortem examination was conducted on the body of the deceased by a forensic pathologist and the cause of the death was determined to be MULTIPLE BLUNT FORCE WOUNDS.
