Details of Investigation
On Saturday December 27, 1997 at about 10:08 p.m., the deceased and two men were in the Cross Country Donut Shop at 3268 Finch Avenue East. This is situated on the north-west corner of Bridletowne Circuit and Finch Avenue East, east of Warden Avenue. Cross Country Donuts is part of a small shopping complex that fronts on both Finch Avenue and Bridletowne Circuit. The Donut Store faces Finch Avenue and is joined to a Variety Store with a Gas Bar out in front.

The three men were sitting at a table at the front of the store adjacent to the windows. Other patrons were seated in the restaurant west of their location.

Without warning several shots were fired through the windows striking all three. The wounded men fell to the ground and remained there until help arrived. Several citizens and patrons from the restaurant came to their assistance while others in the area fled.

Witnesses outside the restaurant report seeing four men dressed in dark clothing with hoods over their heads shooting into the restaurant and the running eastbound.

Police, Ambulance and Fire Department personnel attended at the scene and administered medical aid to the three.

Detectives began the initial investigation.

Forensic Identification Services Detectives began an examination of the scene.

When the deceased arrived at hospital he was pronounced dead after resuscitation attempts failed.
