On Saturday October 18th, 1997 at about 1507 hrs, the Metropolitan Toronto Police Communication Bureau, received a 9-1-1 emergency call from an unknown person calling from a public telephone located in a shopping plaza at Sheppard Ave. E. and Kennedy Road. This person told the police to go to an apartment on Balliol Street.
Upon arriving at the Balliol Street apartment, the officers located the deceased lying face down on the floor of his bedroom.
Detective Bryce EVANS #5862 and Detective Kim CARR # 1716 of the Homicide Squad attended to co-ordinate the investigation.
The initial investigation revealed that the deceased lived alone at this location but also had a cottage outside the city.
It has been established that the deceased was at this cottage until Tuesday October 14th, 1997.
This was the last known contact of the deceased.
On Sunday October 19th, 1997 at 0920 hrs, a post mortem was conducted. The caused of death is listed as multiple stab wounds.
Investigations are continuing.
