Mr. Ahmad came to Canada to find refuge from religious persecution.

Details of Investigation
Mr. Ahmed had been in Canada for 1 year. He was originally from Pakistan and had family in that country.

He was working part time as a gas bar attendant at the 24 hour ROMAN’S GAS bar situated at 325 Horner Avenue.

On Saturday, September 12, 1998, at 4:00 p.m., he arrived at work to commence a 16 hour work shift that would end at 8:00 a.m. Sunday.

During this shift he was alone pumping gas to customers. The service station is located in a commercial/residential area and is best described as somewhat isolated, especially after dark and more so on the weekends.

At approximately 9:40 p.m., Saturday, September 12, a customer located the now deceased sprawled on his back at the west side of the garage. He was partially lying underneath a large tractor cab which was parked at this location.

He had been shot to death.

Investigations are continuing.
