Details of Investigation
The following are the circumstances surrounding the death of Andell Franlyn MURRAY.

Andell Murray was 57 years of age at the time of his death. He was born in Jamaica and had come to Toronto in the early 1970’s. He lived alone at 636A Wilson Avenue, in an apartment above stores on Wilson Avenue West of Dufferin Street.

On Tuesday, August 18th, 1998 at 12:45 p.m. a call was received by the Toronto Police Communications Centre indicating that a friend of Mr. Murray's had gone to visit him and had found him bleeding and unconscious in his apartment.

Police were dispatched to this address as were Toronto Fire Department and Department of Ambulance Services.

The now deceased was found in an unconscious state in his apartment showing obvious signs of trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeants from 32 Division attended the scene and took charge.

Detectives from the Homicide Squad were notified, attended and took charge of the investigation.

Personnel from Forensic Identification Services attended and began the examination of the scene.

On Wednesday, August 18th, 1998, a Post Mortem examination was conducted and determined the cause of death to be a GUNSHOT WOUND.

The investigation is continuing.
