The following are the circumstances surrounding the death of Garfield SHERWOOD:
On Saturday February 27, 1999, at approximately 2:50 p.m., an emergency 9-1-1 call was received at the Communications Centre, regarding a “stabbing” in the underground parking garage of 940 Caledonia Road.
Police from 13 Division arrived on scene and was directed to an area within the garage. There he observed Department of Ambulance Services paramedics rendering medical treatment to a male victim who was lying on the ground. The victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Homicide Squad were notified, attended and took charge of the investigation.
On Sunday, February 28, 1999, an autopsy was conducted by a Forensic Pathologist. The cause of death has been determined to be MULTIPLE GUNSHOT WOUNDS.
The investigation is continuing.
