The following are the circumstances surrounding the death of Gregory KNIGHT.
On Thursday January 21, 1999 at approximately 12:25 a.m. the doorman, at Scanty’s Strip Bar located at 800 Arrow Road in Toronto located a male at the outer rear door apparently suffering from stab wounds.
He ran to the bar and called 9-1-1.
At approximately 12:27 a.m. Detectives of 31 Criminal Investigation Office were the first officers to arrive and took charge of the scene.
Toronto Ambulance attendants immediately commenced C.P.R. on the victim to no avail.
At the time of this occurrence there were approximately 60 people in the Scanty’s bar, including staff and patrons.
Police attended the scene and set up an interior perimeter and co-ordinated the investigation of persons located inside the bar.
At 12:48 hours Homicide Detectives arrived at the scene and took charge of the investigation.
Detectives of the Forensic Identification Unit attended and commenced collection of evidence from the scene.
The cause of the victims death was determined to be MULTIPLE STAB WOUNDS.
Investigations are being conducted by members of the Toronto Police Homicide Squad and 31 Division.
The murder of Gregory KNIGHT occurred in the rear parking lot of the Scanty’s Strip club just after midnight.
The rear parking lot is not regularly used according to the owner of the club and not frequented.
