On Sunday, December 24th, 2000 at about 6:30 a.m. officers from 51 Division responded to a call for unknown trouble to the Guvernment nightclub located at 132 Queens Quay.
Officers located the deceased male lying in the middle of Richardson Street just North of Queens Quay. The victim was being treated by Department of Ambulance Services at that time. The victim was vital signs absent at the scene and he was transported to hospital by ambulance.
The deceased was pronounced dead at 6:51 a.m. at the hospital. The Coroner, attended the hospital and ordered a post mortem be conducted on the body of the deceased.
The victim had just left the Guvernment Club. He was walking to his vehicle when two suspects approached from behind and shot the victim. The suspects fled on foot.
Forensic Identification Unit was notified and Detective Constable Martin DOYLE # 6029 and Detective Constable Neville MILLIKEN # 4363 attended and conducted the Forensic search of the scene.
A post mortem examination was conducted on Tuesday, December 26th, 2000, at 9:30 a.m.
