The following are the circumstances surrounding the death of Anthony EKUNAH.
On Sunday, June 30th, 1991, at about 11:30 p.m., the now deceased left his residence to work overnight in his Yellow Cab which is dispatched through Metro Cabs.
At 1:14 a.m., July 1st, 1991, a call was received at Metro Cabs requesting a pick up at 783 Willowdale Avenue to take a fare to the Finch Avenue and Leslie Street area.
The now deceased confirmed on the radio that he had picked up the fare and confirmed that the address he was going to was the Finch Avenue and Leslie Street area.
This was the last transmission heard from the now deceased.
On Monday, July 1st, 1991, at 11:07 a.m. a resident of Rondeau Drive called the Communications Bureau to advise that a cab had been parked across from her house since early morning.
Police responded to the call and arrived at scene. They examined the cab and found the body of the deceased positioned across the front seat and noted that the interior of the vehicle was heavily blood stained and that he appeared to have suffered several stab wouds to the chest and several slash wounds to the torso and extremities.
The investigation is continuing.
