Message from Claudia Bellus

My name is Claudia Bellus. I am 15 years old. I have been with the YIPI for four weeks. I have found this experience to be very informative and helpful. I have now realized that FIS is not like CSI. There is so much more to this job. The hard work and dedication that is being shown through these people is very refreshing. Everyone is very welcoming and helpful. I feel like I fit in. Here they don't treat you like you're just some kid, they treat you like you're a real person. Throughout these past four weeks I have learned how to file properly and input data. In the future I would like to go to medical school and become a paediatrician. Although working with YIPI is a totally different job I really like to give back to the community. This job will open lots of doors for the future and will look good on a résumé. I am very happy to be representing the youth in Toronto and this opportunity is a once in a life time experience.

Message from Julian Asiedu

My name is Julian Asiedu. I am 17 years old. I have been working for approximately 4 weeks in the Youth in Policing initiative. I have been placed at FIS. I am enjoying my time here with the people in the office. They are very helpful and are kind to me. They welcomed us into the workplace warmly and we do not feel out of place at all. The workload is not too great. We are doing a lot of filing and we are making our way around the building and seeing other components of the forensic environment. In the future I plan to go into the digital music production field of work. FIS is totally irrelevant to what I would like to do in the future but my experiences here are preparing me for the work world. I get to observe how an office runs throughout the day from 7:30-3:30. Everything so far has been going smoothly and I hope to enjoy the rest of my stay at FIS.
