The Coppertones
The Coppertones were formed in 1974. The TPS organized the group as a way to give something back to the community. The band
assists the public by representing the Service through music, attending various functions, public venues and schools. All band
members are active, full-time Service members and accomplished musicians. In 1994, the Coppertones received the prestigious
Chief of Police Award for outstanding community service.

The Coppertones have had many editions over the years,
as a police band. The current edition of three TPS members plays a wide variety
of contemporary and rock music to cover many venues and events. The group plays
at community festivals, fundraisers, seniors' residences and schools. Over
the last 32 years, the Coppertones have performed at Roy Thompson Hall, Breakfast
TV, Mel Lastman Square, Nathan Phillips Square, the Toronto Fire Academy and
the Wayne Gretzsky Arena in Brantford for their 125th Anniversary Banquet and
Celebration.
The band may be booked at no charge to the community.
