Training
The fees for the Ontario Police College Recruit Training are $7,500.
Recruits of the Toronto Police Service have two payment options:
- One time payment of $7,500
- The Police Credit Union offers a cadet loan at our lower preferred rates. For additional information check out our website at www.tpcu.on.ca.
A tax deduction receipt will be issued covering the tuition fees. The payment is required prior to recruits attending Toronto Police College pre-Aylmer training.
 Recruits receive a two-week orientation at the Service's Toronto Police College, 70 Birmingham Street, Toronto, Ontario. Recruits are then sent to the Ontario Police College in Aylmer for 12 weeks (Monday to Friday only).
Recruits then report back to Toronto Police College for a further six weeks of training. Courses covered in training include defensive tactics, driving, firearms, neighbourhood policing and investigative training.
Each applicant is encouraged to gain as much practical driving experience as possible as it would be an asset for their future training. Recruits are classified as Cadets-in-Training while attending both colleges.
