Application Submission Process

Applicants must ensure the following criteria are met prior to submitting an application package to the Toronto Police Service for the position of police constable.

Present your application package (originals or certified copies of all listed documents and a set of photocopies) in person to the Toronto Police Service Employment Unit, 40 College Street, Toronto, including:

  • Completed police constable application form in black ink
  • OACP certificate of results
  • Cover letter
  • Résumé or Curriculum vitae
  • Personal History Form
  • Personal History Form - Friends
  • Supplementary Personal History Form
  • Toronto Police Service Driving Questionnaire
  • Ontario Constable Selection System Consent and Release of Liability Form
  • Minimum Ontario grade 12 diploma or if out of province, grade 12 equivalency (must submit transcripts with the diploma)
  • Standard First Aid and Level "C" CPR certificate
  • Immunization records - Not required at the application submission stage, but MUST have it completed by medical stage.

Bring originals or certified copies of all documents when applying as well as a set of photocopies of all listed documents.

Out of province applicants

Must supply "Driver's Abstract" from the province in which they live.

Those applicants residing outside of the Province please contact the Employment Unit.

Applications Valid for One Year

Applications will be valid for a period of one year from the date they are received at the Employment Unit. Due to the volume of applications received for Police Constable positions, it is possible that not all applicants will be contacted for an interview. Applicants will be granted an interview based on a review of the file and the operational needs of the service.

If you remain interested in seeking employment as a Police Constable with the Toronto Police Service, but have not been contacted within one year from the date you submitted your application, a new application, with current certifications, is required.

OACP Constable Selection Orientation and Pretest Guide Description and samples of pre-tests including PREP, PATI, WCT, B-PAD
Application Form (Typed) Type in spaces and print. This is the prefer the form for neatness. Include copy of a valid OACP certificate.
Application Form (Hand-written) Printed forms and handwritten. Use if the typed above is not practical. Include copy of a valid OACP certificate.
Required Immunization Form Printed, handwritten form, bring with your application submission
Personal History form Printed, handwritten form, bring with your application submission
Personal History form - friends Printed, handwritten form, bring with your application submission
Supplementary Personal History form Printed, handwritten form, bring with your application submission
Ontario Constable Selection System Consent and Release of Liability Form Printed, handwritten form, bring with your application submission
Driving Questionnaire Printed, handwritten form, bring with your application submission
PAR-med-X Only needed if: you are over 40 and/or answered yes to any question on the PAR-Q. First part filled in by applicant, second part filled in, signed and stamped by doctor. PAR-Q and PARmed-X forms must be presented at the physical fitness test. Bring to PREP Practice session.
