International applicants

The recent surge in volume and response from interested International applicants considering employment with our Service has overwhelmed the Employment Unit. Unfortunately, much of this can be attributed to media misinformation and rumour.

The Toronto Police Service wants to clarify and ensure that an accurate assessment is stated with respect to our Constable Selection Procedure.

• We are not actively recruiting Internationally
• We have no International opportunities for lateral entry
• We can not influence Canadian Immigration procedure
• We have no affiliation with any Immigration Consultant Organizations

The Toronto Police Service continually strives to ensure that it represents the richly diverse communities that it serves.

Organizational needs include, and are not limited to, racial minorities, females, Aboriginal people, language skills, residents of Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

The majority of International interest has been from highly qualified, experienced and truly motivated Police Officers. The Toronto Police Service would be proud to work with these professionals but regrets, that at this time, the International interest has far surpassed current available employment opportunities.

The Toronto Police Service continues to accept International applications and they will be processed under the same guidelines and standards as normal applications according to organizational needs.
